Lamea was working at a dry cleaner when a then-employee suggested she apply at NKCH, and the rest is a 15-year history. Starting in admitting, she moved to food services and eventually found her way to our CNA Academy, then became a registered nurse, completing her master’s degree in nursing and will be sitting for her boards to become a nurse practitioner. And Lamea did all this while raising a family, working and going to school full-time.
An immigrant from Turkey, Lamea is a practicing Muslim who is proud to be part of a team that reflects Kansas City’s diversity and is often among the first to welcome new employees from different backgrounds.
